While many of us will be fortunate enough to have lived a life free of troubles, Abigail’s past tribulations have granted her wisdom. With her experiences she will be able to lead many others to Christ.

Kay: Where are you from?

Abigail: Corpus Christi. Born and raised, but moving to Dallas. I lived a life most would want but deep down– I knew there was more to life than just having fun and living selfishly.

Kay: Stage in life?

Abigail: I’m working as a barista; but I’m also creating content on the side in order to build my social media platforms, and do ministry work for the church (DFWICC). I’m also working on an E-book for nutrition because I’ve always loved nutrition– even from a very young age. This mostly came about because of how I grew up in my Hispanic culture.

People in my culture are known for having diabetes, high blood pressure, etc. I think living a healthy lifestyle can help to prevent some of those things.

Kay: Hobbies?

Abigail: I really love cooking nutritional planted based food. I also love creating content for my platforms in order to glorify God. Which will eventually allow me to create revenue and gain more contracts down the line.

Kay: How were you invited to church?

Abigail: A week or so before anyone reached out to me I created a vision board, because I had hopes and aspirations to be a women’s influential leader. And to be able to reach thousands and to show them the way to Christ. Well, at that time, I wasn’t even living a fully righteous life. But I knew God was going to use me.

Then a sister (Chanel) from one of our sister churches in LA– reached out to me through my Tik Tok. She connected me with some of the sisters here in Dallas; and I got into the bible studies, and they cleared up so much for me about the Bible. But they also let me know that though I had a love and understanding of God– I could still stand to know more.

Kay: What are some of your favorite scriptures and why?

Abigail: 1 Peter 3:3-4. It says ‘Don’t be concerned about the outward beauty of fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry, or beautiful clothes. You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God’. It shows what God truly values, and it’s not typically what the world values.

Living in a world that values a whole bunch of other things, I think this scripture sticks out to me because it reminds me that we’re so much more valuable than anything on this earth. Another scripture that I like is  Proverbs 31:30.  I’ve always deeply admired the attributes of the woman being described in this scripture, and wish to embody her.

Kay: What do you love about the kingdom?

Abigail: I love the family and unity. I’ve come to realize through being a part of it– that the disciples in the kingdom show their love through actions. Constantly seeing the brothers and sisters serve one another helps me to see God’s love in my own life.
