Gratefulness

Ricky Jean~ Chief Editor

There are many accounts of Jesus offering forgiveness to sinners, such as the woman who wiped his feet with her tears. she was very grateful for his compassion towards her.

Likewise, Megan has the same heart. It’s because she not only realizes how much we’ve  been forgiven, but that every single one of us are unworthy of that love. We should learn to appreciate God’s mercy in the same manner.

Alessandra: Tell me a little about yourself. Where did you grow up, stage in life, working, going to school, are you from DFW originally?

Megan: I was adopted from China when I was one years old. My family lived in Turkey on a Military base and then they moved to Italy; so I lived in Italy most of my life. My Senior year of High School I moved to South Korea. Then I went to Hardin Simmons University for my Freshman year of College, then I transferred here to UTA. I’m going to school for Psychology and I’m a Junior.

Alessandra: What’s your favorite thing about Italy?

Megan: Definitely the food because my favorite food is pasta. And also the traveling; it’s really cheap to travel there.

Alessandra: What are some of your favorite hobbies and something you would consider unique about yourself?

Megan: I like cooking and baking. I don’t really have time for that right now but I used to. I also like traveling.

Alessandra: Tell me how you were met/invited to Church?

Megan: Alejandra met me. She met me at my job at Starbucks. She invited me to Campus Devotional. I thought it was really loud and energetic. I didn’t understand the chants for the Bible Talks. I didn’t know what they were saying or anything. But it was really good. The day after I started studying the Bible, and I did it everyday then got baptized.

Alessandra: Describe your relationship with God prior to studying The Bible and how it has changed?

Megan: Before baptism I was very two faced in my relationship with God. I would say I was a Christian, that I love Jesus and everything, but I didn’t know him and I didn’t read my Bible. There was no way I could really show that I was a Christian in any way. I would go to church sometimes, but I would just be there physically. I wouldn’t be there mentally or spiritually.

Alessandra: What are some of your favorite scriptures and why?

Megan: One that I like is Romans 8:35-39. It just says that Jesus loves us and nothing can separate us from the love of God. Especially because we don’t deserve it.

Alessandra: What advice would you give someone who has started studying the Bible or is considering it?

Megan: I would definitely urge them to do it. The biggest thing that affected me during the Bible studies was that they were personal. It took some effort because I’m an introvert, but it helped me focus on my walk with God. It helped me to learn how to seek God, and build my relationship with him. Which I did not know how to do.

Alessandra: What do you love about the Kingdom?

Megan: I love that it’s just a family, and we all have the exact same convictions as well. We keep each other accountable and in check. We make sure we’re all walking right with God. If anyone is struggling with anything we can always give them a call, and read some scripture with them to encourage them. If you need anything at any time someone will literally be there for you so fast. So it’s awesome.
